What you will do::

The Electrical Focus Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and facility systems within a manufacturing environment, with a primary focus on industrial electrical systems and controls. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses equipment failures, repairs production machinery, and supports reliable plant operations by minimizing equipment downtime.

 

The ideal candidate has a strong industrial electrical background with experience troubleshooting three-phase power, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical panels, and related manufacturing equipment. This position works closely with Production, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

 

Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Test, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and production equipment
  • Troubleshoot three-phase power systems, motor control centers, electrical distribution panels, and related electrical components
  • Diagnose and repair motors, contactors, relays, transformers, switches, sensors, and other industrial electrical equipment
  • Install, replace, configure, and calibrate variable frequency drives (VFDs) and related motor-control components
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment documentation
  • Use appropriate electrical testing and diagnostic equipment to identify equipment failures and operating concerns
  • Identify electrical issues affecting production performance and implement timely corrective actions
  • Support electrical upgrades, equipment installations, and modifications as authorized

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery, manufacturing equipment, and facility systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and related equipment issues
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failures before they result in unplanned downtime
  • Repair or replace motors, bearings, belts, sensors, hydraulic components, electrical components, and other equipment parts as required
  • Perform equipment adjustments and repairs to restore safe and efficient operation
  • Support maintenance of heavy equipment and other plant machinery as assigned

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
  • Inspect electrical connections, motors, drives, panels, controls, and mechanical components for signs of wear or failure
  • Complete lubrication, adjustments, component replacements, and other scheduled maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate preventive-maintenance records and equipment service histories
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective or preventive solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and reduced downtime

Production & Operational Support

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance requests
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and prioritize repairs based on safety and operational impact
  • Communicate equipment condition, repair status, and estimated downtime to Production and Operations personnel
  • Coordinate with production employees to safely access equipment and complete repairs
  • Assist with equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and troubleshooting as needed
  • Maintain appropriate replacement parts, electrical components, tools, and maintenance supplies
  • Perform additional maintenance duties and special projects as assigned

Documentation & Technical Support

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, repair documentation, and parts usage information
  • Document equipment failures and corrective actions within company maintenance systems
  • Review equipment manuals, technical documentation, electrical drawings, and manufacturer specifications
  • Assist with maintaining accurate electrical schematics and equipment documentation
  • Communicate recurring equipment issues and recommended improvements to Maintenance leadership

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, electrical safety practices, and established maintenance procedures
  • Follow applicable lockout/tagout procedures before servicing or repairing equipment
  • Use required PPE and appropriate electrical safety equipment
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance and work areas
  • Identify and report unsafe equipment, electrical hazards, damaged components, accidents, injuries, and near misses
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with established safety requirements
  • Participate in required safety meetings, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Knowledge of three-phase electrical power and industrial distribution systems
  • Experience with motor controls, VFDs, contactors, relays, transformers, and electrical panels
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and industrial machinery
  • Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple maintenance assignments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program, technical degree, or comparable electrical training
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license highly preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or component manufacturing environments
  • Experience maintaining equipment manufactured by Alpine, MiTek, Spida, or similar component-manufacturing equipment providers preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled or automated manufacturing equipment is a plus
  • Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and heavy-equipment maintenance preferred
  • Work is performed primarily in manufacturing, plant, maintenance-shop, and industrial environments
  • Frequent exposure to production machinery, electrical systems, moving equipment, noise, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform physical maintenance activities throughout the shift
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry materials or components weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds
  • Assistance, hoists, forklifts, lifting devices, or team lifting should be used when handling heavier components or materials
  • Ability to safely work around energized systems in accordance with established electrical safety procedures
  • Ability to work assigned day or night shifts based on operational needs
  • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to support production and equipment reliability
