Position Overview

Inspection Experts, Inc., a facilities management firm, is seeking a skilled Electrician with a proven track record in installing, maintaining, and diagnosing commercial electrical systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in high and low voltage systems, electrical distribution, lighting, and controls. The ideal candidate will ensure that all facility electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot commercial electrical distribution systems, generators, switchgear, panels, and related facility equipment.

  • Perform high and low voltage electrical work, including complex interior and exterior lighting systems and lighting controls.

  • Install and bend conduit, pull wire, and terminate connections for new construction, renovations, or system upgrades.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Manage, test, and maintain fire alarms, life safety systems, and backup power systems (UPS and generators).

  • Work with various electromechanical devices, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Conduct internal and external inspections of electrical systems and associated controls to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency and longevity.

  • Address daily service tickets and repair calls promptly and effectively.

  • Provide clear, customer-centric verbal and written communication regarding system statuses and repair timelines.

  • Ensure strict adherence to company, industry, OSHA, and regulatory safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

  • Maintain 100% customer satisfaction and exceed customer expectations.

  • Ability to cover for the onsite Supervisor as required.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Trade or Vocational School education and a minimum of five years' experience at the journeyman level focusing on commercial electrical systems.

  • Active Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent master/journeyman certification) is highly preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.

  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documents from manufacturers.

  • Hands-on experience with installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical distribution systems, lighting controls (DDC/BAS), backup power, and life safety systems.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for email, data entry, and work order management.

  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and handle equipment and tools weighing over 300 lbs using appropriate lifts and rigging.

  • Strong verbal, written, and computer communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License in good standing from the state of residence.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Successful completion of a security clearance investigation will be necessary.
