Electrical Inspector

Job Title: Electrical Inspector
Location: Hobbs, NM
Type: 12 month Contract
Compensation: $70.00 - $71.50
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: 50-hour work week, 7 AM – 5:30 PM
Per Diem: $178/day

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to EPC contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements for a solar farm project.
• Offer technical recommendations on electrical activities during construction, including low and medium voltage work.
• Oversee field connections to solar panels and tracker systems, ensuring wiring and connections meet standards.
• Verify that all electrical work complies with safety regulations, standards, and specifications.
• Maintain safety oversight, ensuring activities adhere to safety protocols and best practices.
• Coordinate with multiple contractors and construction managers to facilitate project progress.
• Support the project’s successful and safe execution by conducting daily site inspections and ensuring proper wiring and functioning of electrical systems, including inverters.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of electrical experience, with extensive work in low and medium voltage systems.
• Specific experience in solar construction highly preferred.
• Familiarity with NEXTracker system software beneficial.
• Strong safety background, OSHA 30 certification desirable but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred; however, years of experience can substitute.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a highly team-oriented environment.
• Employment stability with no gaps greater than 1 year preferred.
• Previous EPC experience from companies like Mortenson, Blattner Construction, or similar is a plus.
