The Opportunity:

Schwenn Services & Contracting, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Journeyman to support commercial and industrial electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across the Central Florida / Winter Garden-Orlando market.


This role is ideal for a journeyman-level electrician who is confident working independently, understands commercial electrical systems, and can perform in active jobsite environments, including occupied facilities such as healthcare, school board, government, and secure commercial sites.


You will play a key role in delivering safe, code-compliant electrical work while supporting apprentices and less experienced field team members. How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, panels, conduit, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate system layout and installation.
  • Inspect existing electrical components to identify hazards, defects, code issues, or repair needs.
  • Diagnose electrical system malfunctions using testing devices and field troubleshooting methods.
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical components in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure field installations comply with the National Electrical Code, local building codes, and project-specific requirements.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and route conduit using standard hand and power tools.
  • Work professionally in active commercial, healthcare, school board, government, and secure facility environments.
  • Mentor apprentices and support less experienced team members while maintaining a safe, productive jobsite.
  • Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep work moving efficiently.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid state or locally issued Journeyman Electrician license or certification.
  • Successful completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable local building codes.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial or industrial electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to read and work from electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Willingness to travel regionally to project sites within the Central Florida / Orlando market.
  • Ability to work in active commercial environments, including occupied or sensitive facilities.
  • Must be able to meet site-access requirements for government, healthcare, education, and secure commercial facilities, as applicable.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience working on healthcare, VA, military base, school board, government, federal, or other secure/credentialed project sites.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting junior field team members.
  • Experience working around other trades on mechanical, HVAC, or multi-scope commercial projects.
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and jobsite coordination skills.
