Electrical / Low Voltage Estimator

Duration: 3+ Months (Contract to hire)

Location: Orlando, FL (Possibly remote)

Position Summary

The Electrical / Low Voltage Estimator supports the preconstruction process by developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical and/or low-voltage scopes on complex construction projects. The individual reviews drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scope requirements; performs quantity takeoffs; develops labor, material, and equipment estimates; obtains vendor and subcontractor pricing; identifies potential scope gaps; and supports proposal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
  • Estimate electrical and/or low-voltage construction scopes.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier, vendor, and subcontractor quotations.
  • Assist with conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates.
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and assumptions.
  • Support bid leveling and subcontractor scope reviews.
  • Maintain estimating documentation and supporting cost information.
  • Coordinate with preconstruction, operations, project management, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Support handoff of awarded projects from preconstruction to operations.

Preferred Background

  • Electrical, low-voltage, MEP, or construction estimating experience.
  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs and reading construction drawings/specifications.
  • Experience developing labor and material estimates.
  • Experience working with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Data center, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, healthcare, or large commercial construction exposure is beneficial.
