Schedule: Must be flexible to work 8-hour, 10-hour, rotating 12-hour, day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to support the operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of a high-speed distillery and beverage production facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical, controls, and electromechanical systems throughout the plant.

The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with automated manufacturing equipment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, control circuits, motors, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, instrumentation, and automated production equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and corrective maintenance activities on manufacturing and utility equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC logic, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, pumps, compressors, packaging equipment, filling systems, bottling/canning equipment, and process equipment.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and capital projects.
  • Utilize SAP, CMMS, or other maintenance systems to document work orders, equipment history, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), 5 Whys, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to improve asset performance.
  • Support autonomous maintenance initiatives and operator training as needed.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, maintenance reviews, and reliability improvement activities.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, food and beverage manufacturing, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principles.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation preferred)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • AC/DC motors and motor controls
  • Electrical distribution systems up to 480V
  • Sensors, photo eyes, proximity switches, encoders, and instrumentation
  • HMI systems and industrial automation controls
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Industrial networking and communication systems
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement tools

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician certification, technical degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, brewery, distillery, beverage, food processing, packaging, or consumer products facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, LOTO, and industrial maintenance best practices.
  • Experience with SAP, CMMS, or other maintenance management systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, moisture, and moving machinery.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and shift schedules as needed.
