Electrical Maintenance Technician

Rushville, IN | Full-Time | Direct Hire

Compensation: $35/hour plus overtime

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of industrial equipment within a manufacturing foundry environment in Rushville, IN.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced industrial electrician, electrical maintenance technician, machine repair technician, or industrial maintenance technician who is comfortable troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting a safe and efficient production environment.

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, install, and inspect industrial machinery and electrical systems. You will work closely with production and management teams to identify issues, prioritize repairs, and keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Electrical & Controls

  • Perform general electrical maintenance and advanced troubleshooting on industrial equipment
  • Troubleshoot A.C. and D.C. electrical systems
  • Diagnose electrical issues involving switches, fuses, limit switches, proximity switches, light curtains, motor contactors, power supplies, and control circuits
  • Troubleshoot three-phase electrical systems up to 480 VAC
  • Wire motor starters and overloads from scratch
  • Install and set up push-button stations for new and existing equipment
  • Run conduit and pull wire for equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot control voltage and PLC-related issues using RSLogix
  • Use digital multimeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment
  • Diagnose motors for open circuits, shorts, winding issues, and bearing failures
  • Follow applicable NEC codes, OSHA requirements, and electrical safety procedures

Mechanical & Machine Repair

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and production equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment failures
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential failures before they result in production downtime
  • Lubricate machinery and replace filters and other maintenance components
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Maintain and repair foundry and heavy manufacturing equipment
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs

General Maintenance & Safety

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and document findings
  • Work closely with operations and management to prioritize maintenance activities
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all OSHA standards, company safety procedures, and established shop practices
  • Complete daily maintenance reports and documentation
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and/or mechanical equipment
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and safety procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a digital multimeter and other testing equipment
  • Working knowledge of A.C. and D.C. systems, three-phase power, motor controls, and control voltage
  • Experience working with industrial machinery, production equipment, or automated systems
  • Ability to obtain a Journeyman Electrician Card after receiving a job offer
  • Working knowledge of NEC codes and industrial electrical safety standards preferred
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and RSLogix is a plus
  • Experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment is highly preferred
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work any shift and perform overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed
