The Electrical Maintenance Technician will install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.\n \nMinimum Qualifications\n \nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n High school diploma and Vocational diploma; or High School diploma and apprentice experience. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC. \n Three years commercial electrical experience.\n Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing\n \nPreferred Qualifications\n \nPREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n Electrical license\n Five (5) years of commercial electrical experience\n \nEssential Duties\n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:\n\n Install wiring and conduit systems for newly installed machines and equipment\n Replace bulbs and ballasts\n Run new circuits\n Pull telephone and computer wires\n Check and maintain all types of light fixtures and outlets\n Inventory and maintain stock of electrical item.\n Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken parts, wiring or cables\n Assist other trades as necessary\n Operate different types of lifts to perform electrical work\n Operate a forklift, with training\n Subject to be on call for emergencies\n Assist with snow removal\n Other duties may be assigned.\n \nLANGUAGE SKILLS:\n\n Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals\n \nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:\n\n Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals\n \nREASONING ABILITY:\n\n Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form\n Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standard and non-standard situations\n \nPhysical Demands\n \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n \nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
