    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Wyoming Department of Corrections is committed to public safety and high correctional standards, as well as a safe, supportive working environment for our employees. The Wyoming Honor Farm (WHF) in Riverton, WY provides programming, vocational, recreational, and educational space to allow the WDOC to meet the goal of reducing recidivism through cognitive and behavioral intervention.

    WHF is currently seeking an Electrical Manager who is a critical member of our team! We are seeking to employ career-oriented candidates who want to work with a team culture of respect, growth, and job security.     This position manages and oversees the planning and execution of all maintenance-related activities and construction projects at the facility. The successful candidate is responsible for setting and adhering to the maintenance budget, forecasting future facility needs of equipment replacement, repair, upgrades to buildings, & new construction, and supervising a team of four. The position assures compliance with all federal and state laws, codes, regulations, and OSHA standards. Additionally, the position works with and oversees two programs with outside entities for the facilities Sage Brush Project and Dog Program.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

    • Manages a staff of subordinate supervisors and trades technicians who perform daily and long-range maintenance tasks related to HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
    • Manages facility construction projects performed by Wyoming Department of Corrections maintenance staff or contracted vendors.
    • Schedules projects and allocates resources.
    • Prepares annual maintenance budgets.
    • Provides project cost estimates.
    • Writes services contracts and oversees contract services.
    • Works closely with engineers and architects on design criteria for building construction and renovation projects.
    • Ensures that project designs integrate into existing systems.
    • Oversees funding and allocation of funds for projects to ensure appropriate funding to approved construction projects.
    • Assists in the completion of facility work orders.
    • Ensures the safety and security of the prison is maintained through tool control and best practices.
    • Works with and oversees programs with outside entities for the facilitys Sage Brush Project, and Dog Program.
    • Oversees the facilitys Vehicle Motor Pool.
    • Works closely with all department heads, especially Agriculture and Security.
    • Oversees overall Facility appearance and maintenance.
    • Responsible for adhering to procurement policies and procedures while completing and managing all required purchasing documentation.

    Qualifications

    PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

    This position must pass a background/reference check.

    KNOWLEDGE:

    • Good working knowledge of project management
    • Skill in work management and supervision of personnel
    • Skill in budget management and control, administration decision
    • Knowledge of government rules and regulations
    • Knowledge of EPA and DEQ regulations in regard to boiler operations
    • Knowledge of OSHA standards and compliance
    • Ability to design and complete work in a high-security environment
    • Ability to maintain effective human relations with staff and inmates
    • Knowledge of and proficiency with computer applications, including Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
