Electrical Manager

Position Summary

The Electrical Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and management of all electrical construction and installation activities. This position directs field operations, personnel, project execution, safety compliance, budgeting, scheduling, and overall departmental performance to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

The Electrical Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, employee development, customer satisfaction, and division profitability while supporting organizational growth objectives.

Compensation

Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 Annually

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Provide leadership and direction for all electrical construction and installation operations.
  • Promote and maintain a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise electrical staff, field personnel, and project teams.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Lead departmental and project-related meetings.

Operational Management

  • Manage multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee daily field operations, labor deployment, and project execution.
  • Assign personnel and resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate project activities with internal departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Monitor project schedules, staffing requirements, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure installation work meets quality standards, specifications, and applicable codes.

Project Management

  • Review project proposals, contracts, plans, specifications, and submittals.
  • Participate in project turnover, planning, kickoff, and jobsite meetings.
  • Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Resolve project-related issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Schedule installation crews and oversee project labor allocation.
  • Coordinate equipment, material deliveries, cranes, lifts, and subcontractor activities.
  • Review daily field reports, productivity metrics, and timesheets.
  • Prepare and oversee project closeout documentation.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Manage project profitability, labor costs, and departmental expenses.
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
  • Maintain labor utilization and productivity targets.
  • Approve purchases of materials, equipment, and operating supplies within authorized budgets.
  • Provide regular project and operational updates to executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead all safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Conduct investigations of workplace incidents, concerns, and safety issues.
  • Implement corrective actions and preventative measures when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.
  • Ensure all installation activities comply with applicable electrical codes and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise electricians, field personnel, and departmental staff.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, promotions, compensation recommendations, and terminations.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions for direct reports.
  • Address employee concerns and workplace issues in a timely manner.
  • Foster employee engagement and recognize outstanding performance.
