Position Summary Information

Position Summary

SRU invites applications for one full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in the electrical and computer engineering program starting spring semester 2027. This position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses from fundamental engineering courses to upper division Electrical and Mechanical engineering courses with an emphasis on Electrical engineering. Candidates should have proficiency with engineering software packages such as CAD, MATLAB, Python, Labview, Eagle PCB, and Pspice. Additionally, they will be expected to establish a productive research program that involves undergraduates, actively participate in student advising and prepare students for a successful career, and participate in department/university service, including attaining ABET accreditation. Qualified candidates have Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering with a strong background in electrical engineering, or related discipline. Preferred candidates will demonstrate effective use of evidence-based pedagogy and showcase a research plan accessible to undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a strong background in electrical engineering, or related field. Candidates who will attain their PhD prior to the start of the spring 2027 semester will be considered.
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations.
• Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including teaching demonstration is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Teaching experience in electrical, computer, mechanical and/or fundamental engineering courses
• Experience with CAD, CAM, MATLAB, Python, Labview, Eagle PCB, and Pspice, or similar software
• Effective use of evidence-based teaching practices
• Research plan accessible to undergraduate students
• Prior relevant industrial experience
• Professional engineering licensure or progress towards licensure
• Experience in advising or mentoring students
• Demonstrated involvement in workplace or community
