Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Duration: 24 Months
Location: Waterloo, IA -50703
Shift: 1st shift position (7 am to 3:30 pm) with minimal overtime

Introduction

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with an Industrial Engineering background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven performance in past manufacturing support roles and experience conducting time studies. You’ll work on optimizing processes, supporting operations, and improving efficiency within our manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer (ideal); open to recent graduates with relevant internships or academic experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing and distribution processes, quality, tooling, and facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing and communication.
  • Proven track record in shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, and work measurement.
  • Proficiency in Client Office software.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with time studies and work measurement analyses for incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan).
  • Experience in total preventative maintenance and facilities management activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support manufacturing operations as required.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing and distribution operations, focusing on quality improvement and efficiency.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, tool design, and processes.
  • Document processes and procedures with technical writing, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provide shop floor support and problem-solving, spending approximately 60% of time on feet and lifting up to 10 lbs as needed.
  • Utilize relevant software to analyze data and prepare reports.
