Position Overview:

We are open to hiring this role at the Electrical Project Engineer II or Senior Electrical Project Engineer level, based on the selected candidate's experience and technical depth. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, this position serves as the engineering lead and liaison among Product Managers, North American Mechanical Engineers, business units, and our Global Electrical Engineering team.

  • Manage project tasks, schedules, costs, specifications, and communication across global teams.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews through the Key Component, Digital Product, and New Product Development processes.
  • Evaluate designs and support prototype testing to identify risks, resolve issues, and improve product performance.
  • Translate marketing and product requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks for the R&D team.
  • Coordinate electrical system and hardware design activities, including collaboration related to software development.
  • Communicate regularly with overseas teams, occasionally outside standard office hours.
  • Travel internationally approximately two to four times per year to facilities in Taiwan and/or China.

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Other projects as needed.

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least four years of professional experience in electrical hardware design, engineering project management, or a closely related field; additional relevant experience and demonstrated scope are expected for consideration at the senior level.
  • Technical project management and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • At least two years of design experience with embedded hardware, or at least two years of design experience with AC/DC motors, generators, and drive systems.
  • Experience with PCB layout.
  • Basic knowledge of EMC/EMI and motor control or control theory.
  • Ability to travel internationally approximately two to four times per year and participate in occasional early-morning or evening communication with overseas teams.

What Will Help You Stand Out:

  • Well-rounded engineering experience across analog and digital hardware design, embedded controllers, motor control, digital communications, and system connectivity.
  • Experience leading complex technical projects or cross-functional engineering initiatives from concept through product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence global stakeholders and provide technical direction without direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical ideas to varied audiences.
  • Self-directed, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
