The Electrical Project Engineer will oversee full project execution from concept through commissioning, including electrical design, control system development, programming, startup support, and customer-facing technical coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design: Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial machinery, including schematics, panel layouts, control architectures, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials. Select appropriate electrical components based on technical and operational requirements.

Controls Programming & Integration: Develop, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and related automation systems to ensure seamless equipment functionality and performance.

Project Management & Delivery: Manage electrical engineering project timelines from concept through commissioning, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within project scope, and aligned with operational expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, manufacturing, service, mechanical engineering, and customer stakeholders to ensure alignment across all project phases and successful equipment execution.

Startup, Commissioning & Troubleshooting: Support in-house machine testing, system debugging, startup, and on-site commissioning. Identify technical issues, troubleshoot control systems, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational success.

Site Travel & Customer Support: Travel approximately 30 percent to support customer installations, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical field support, including occasional international travel when required.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Evaluate automation technologies, control strategies, and engineering improvements that enhance machine reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.

Key Competencies:

Electrical Engineering Expertise: Strong understanding of industrial electrical design, control systems, panel design, machine automation, and component integration.

Automation & Programming Proficiency: Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, VFD integration, sensor technologies, and industrial control platforms.

Project Ownership: Ability to independently manage engineering projects from design through startup while maintaining accountability for quality, timelines, and execution.

Technical Documentation: Skilled in creating accurate schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, panel documentation, and technical engineering records.

Collaborative Teamwork: Effective communicator who can work across multidisciplinary teams while also engaging directly with customers in technical project discussions.

Problem Solving & Field Execution: Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose technical issues, perform hands-on field support, and deliver practical engineering solutions in dynamic environments.
