    Roadway Project Manager


    Summary


    We are seeking an experienced Roadway Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will oversee roadway design projects from proposal through construction, manage client relationships, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable standards. This position is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with strong project management experience and a passion for delivering high-quality transportation solutions.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Manage roadway and transportation engineering projects from conception through completion.
    • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Prepare and review roadway design plans, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
    • Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines, subconsultants, and public agencies.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong, long-term relationships.
    • Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation design standards.
    • Mentor and supervise project engineers, designers, and technical staff.
    • Participate in proposal development, scope preparation, fee estimates, and business development activities.
    • Attend client meetings, public meetings, and project presentations as required.
    • Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits when necessary.


    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain through reciprocity if applicable).
    • 8+ years of roadway design and project management experience.
    • Strong knowledge of roadway design principles, geometric design, drainage coordination, and utility coordination.
    • Experience managing DOT, municipal, and/or county transportation projects.
    • Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar roadway design software.
    • Familiarity with transportation design standards including AASHTO, MUTCD, and applicable state DOT requirements.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and client management skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.


    Preferred Qualifications


    • Experience with FDOT, DOT, municipal, or county roadway projects.
    • Experience managing multidisciplinary transportation projects.
    • PMP certification is a plus.
    • Business development and client relationship management experience.
