Position Overview
A leading national electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join its Los Angeles operation, delivering complex healthcare and mission-critical projects throughout Southern California.
The Project Manager will take ownership of projects from preconstruction and procurement through field execution, commissioning and final turnover, working closely with field leadership, clients, general contractors and design teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical construction professional looking to work on technically complex, high-value projects with a contractor offering a strong long-term project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical construction projects from preconstruction through completion and turnover.
- Take ownership of project budgets, cost forecasting, scheduling and financial performance.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement and project documentation.
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents, General Foremen and field teams to drive successful project delivery.
- Manage relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Oversee procurement and installation of major electrical equipment and long-lead materials.
- Coordinate complex electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, emergency power and critical-power infrastructure.
- Support electrical testing, equipment startup, energization and commissioning.
- Manage healthcare projects requiring complex phasing, shutdowns and work within operational environments.
- Monitor manpower, productivity, schedule milestones and project risks.
- Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, NEC requirements, QA/QC standards and safety procedures.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular schedule, cost and progress reporting.
- Drive punch-list completion, closeout documentation and successful project turnover.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience as a Project Manager or Senior Assistant Project Manager within an electrical contractor.
- Strong commercial, healthcare, mission-critical or technically complex electrical construction experience.
- Experience delivering healthcare, hospital, data center, life sciences or other critical-environment projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution, emergency power and critical-power systems.
- Experience managing project financials, forecasting, procurement and change orders.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications and construction schedules.
- Strong understanding of field operations and electrical construction sequencing.
- Excellent client-facing, leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in demanding project environments.
