The Electrical Project Manager leads the full lifecycle of a large, technically complex industrial and life sciences construction project with an electrical scope exceeding $30M. This role oversees project execution from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance are consistently achieved. The position requires strong leadership, coordination with internal teams and external partners, and the ability to manage complex electrical systems in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and rigorous documentation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of electrical project execution for a large, multi-million-dollar construction scope from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Manage the project budget, including cost forecasting, labor production tracking, and change management to maintain financial performance.
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with field leadership and trade partners to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field teams to ensure scope alignment, productivity, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Drive project planning activities, including procurement strategies and material release schedules, to support uninterrupted field operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners, facilitating clear communication and timely decision-making.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and contract documents throughout all phases of the project.
  • Review, coordinate, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders to maintain accurate project documentation and scope control.
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents and field leadership to support field execution, address constructability issues, and resolve challenges proactively.
  • Provide clear, consistent reporting on project financials, schedule status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including punch list management, turnover documentation, and collection of lessons learned to improve future projects.
  • Ensure complex power distribution, grounding, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems are installed and commissioned in accordance with design and performance requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and documentation on industrial, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and life sciences facilities.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of experience managing electrical construction projects.
  • Strong background in commercial, industrial, or life sciences electrical systems.
  • Proven experience managing large project budgets and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Deep understanding of electrical construction means and methods in industrial and complex facility environments.
  • Proficiency with construction management and project controls software.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to guide teams, drive accountability, and maintain project momentum.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and documentation requirements.
  • Industrial construction experience, particularly on large-scale electrical scopes of $10M or more.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent trade or field experience in electrical construction will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience delivering large-scale electrical construction projects with scopes of $10M or more.

Work Environment

This role operates within large-scale industrial, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and life sciences construction environments that demand high safety, quality, and documentation standards. The Electrical Project Manager works closely with field leadership, trade partners, subcontractors, and suppliers, frequently coordinating complex power distribution, grounding, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems. The work involves a mix of office-based planning, budgeting, scheduling, and documentation, combined with regular on-site presence to support field execution and oversee installation activities. The environment is fast-paced and technically demanding, requiring detailed coordination and the use of construction management and project controls software to manage schedules, financials, RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Dress expectations typically align with professional office attire for meetings and appropriate safety gear when visiting active construction sites.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
