Position Summary
We are seeking an
Electrical Quality Inspector to ensure electrical components, control panels, wiring systems, and completed assemblies meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and Quality Management System standards. This role is responsible for performing receiving, in-process, first article, final, and functional inspections while supporting manufacturing, engineering, and quality initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, exceptional attention to detail, and experience interpreting electrical drawings, performing electrical testing, and documenting inspection results.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Assurance
Perform receiving, first article, in-process, final, and functional inspections of electrical components, assemblies, control panels, and equipment.
Verify product compliance with engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
Inspect electrical assemblies for workmanship, wiring accuracy, labeling, routing, and installation quality.
Perform continuity, insulation resistance, voltage verification, functional, and other electrical tests as required.
Verify calibration status and proper use of electrical measurement and testing equipment.
Review material certifications, supplier documentation, inspection records, test reports, and First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
Documentation & Compliance
Document inspection results, test data, nonconformances, and quality observations accurately and professionally.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test reports, FAI packages, and quality documentation.
Verify the completion and accuracy of manufacturing, inspection, and testing records.
Identify, document, segregate, and control nonconforming materials in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and applicable customer specifications.
Maintain knowledge of applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and quality procedures.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
Support troubleshooting of electrical assemblies, control systems, and test failures.
Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition of nonconforming material.
Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), operational testing, and customer witness testing.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Project Management, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality-related issues.
Support the development and improvement of inspection procedures, testing methods, and quality documentation.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Controls, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of three years of experience in electrical inspection, electrical assembly, industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, or a related field.
Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical documentation.
Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, insulation resistance testers, clamp meters, and similar instruments.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality environments preferred.
Experience with industrial control panels, PLC systems, instrumentation, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and power distribution systems preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
Primarily works in a combination of manufacturing and office environments.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling are required.
Exposure to manufacturing equipment, welding operations, electrical systems, forklifts, overhead cranes, compressed gases, noise, and other industrial conditions.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate.
Occasional travel may be required to customer sites, supplier facilities, or installation locations for inspections, audits, and project support.
