Electrical Shop Supervisor

Your Tasks

  • Exercise independent judgment in resolving complex technical and safety issues
  • Ensure continuous compliance with NFPA 72 inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements
  • Lead emergency response and restoration for critical campus systems
  • Communicate technical and regulatory information clearly to staff, contractors, inspectors and campus stakeholders
  • Coordinate effectively with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
Our requirements

Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of complex electrical, electronic, and low-voltage systems in institutional environments
  • Advanced knowledge of fire alarm and life-safety systems under the North Carolina Fire Code and NFPA 72
  • Workking knowledge of DDC/building automation systems and system integration
  • Knowledge of fiber-optic systems, termination methods, and testing principles
  • Knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 72, OSHA regulations, and university safety policies
Skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting of multi-system electrical and life-safety failures
  • Supervising skilled trades staff andd coordinating contractor activities
  • Interpreting complex drawings, schematics, riser diagrams, and as-built documentation
  • Applying lockout/tagout, arc-flash mitigation, and life-safety testing protocols
  • Maintaining detailed compliance documentation and CMMS records

7 or more years of progressively responsible electrical trade experience

3 or more years of supervisory or lead electrician experience.

Position is Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM in Greensboro, NC.
