Electrical/ Software Test Engineer

Introduction

We are looking for a test engineer to build test solutions for manufacturing the electronic platform that underpins our autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of tests for critical components including custom PCIe devices, networking solutions, and other PC components. You will work cross-functionally with our electrical engineering and software teams to develop and test new products and technologies. We are looking for an engineer who is curious, enthusiastic, and not afraid to embrace new technologies! The ability to work independently and organize work around schedules and critical deadlines is a definite plus.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
• 6-8 years of industry experience
• Hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing and testing electronic assemblies; knowledge of NPI testing and validation is a strong plus
• Strong git proficiency (git workflows, conflict resolution, advanced branching and merging, history manipulation)
• Strong knowledge of Python and shell (bash) scripting. Experience with other programming languages such as C is beneficial
• Experience with the Linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools such as lshw, ssh
• Prior work experience at the client or in the client's industry

• Experience with autonomous vehicle technology
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Build and release test solutions for use in early bring-up activities
• Work cross-functionally to implement the correct test coverage and process across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle)
• Support the test and validation of prototype designs
• Establish best practices and drive continuous improvement for improving test execution, test runtime, and yield
