The Electrical Staff Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations, workforce planning, project execution, and quality control across multiple active job sites. This role provides leadership and support to Site Supervisors, General Foremen, and Foremen while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.

  • Start date: 7/1/2026 - Local candidates only
  • Pay rate: $60-75 hr. DOE
  • Duration: Project will run through end of 2026, and beginning of next year.7-9 months

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading electrical construction crews and managing projects; petrochemical industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, industry standards, and applicable codes.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large field workforces and multiple project sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and termination diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with:
    • Microsoft Project (including resource loading)
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, union representatives, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for multiple active electrical construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site visits to all active project locations.
  • Manage workforce planning and allocation by coordinating with Foremen, General Foremen, Site Supervisors, and Project Managers to address current and future manpower needs.
  • Coordinate union hall calls and staffing requests to secure qualified personnel as needed.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new field employees in coordination with appropriate company personnel.
  • Ensure workforce reductions are administered in accordance with applicable union agreements and requirements.
  • Assist Site Supervisors, General Foremen, and Foremen in resolving manpower-related challenges.
  • Evaluate, mentor, and develop field leadership personnel, including Foremen and General Foremen.

Labor Relations & Administration

  • Maintain productive working relationships with union representatives, including IBEW, UA Local 460, and UA Local 220.
  • Collect and review required field documentation, including BEST forms, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and Foreman Daily Reports from all active sites on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor and maintain familiarity with company workforce reports, including:
    • SDI Claims Reports
    • Skilled Training Reports
    • RSO Reports
    • Approved Drivers Reports

Project Execution & Field Support

  • Promote and implement best practices to improve productivity, quality, and overall project performance.
  • Ensure installations are performed in accordance with project specifications, standard installation details, and all applicable state and local codes.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, including termination drawings, and provide technical guidance to field teams as needed.
  • Assist field supervision with equipment procurement, utilization, and issue resolution.
  • Support Site Supervisors and Project Managers with the preparation and timely processing of Requests for Information (RFIs) and Field Change Orders (FCOs).
  • Assist Site Supervisors in evaluating project schedules and determining labor-hour requirements for successful project completion.
  • Attend project meetings and collaborate with Project Managers to review schedules, RFIs, change orders, and project progress.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintain professional and ethical working relationships with clients, project owners, engineers, technicians, and trade partners.
  • Communicate effectively with client representatives and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Advise Project Managers and Division Managers of potential project risks, personnel concerns, or operational issues and assist in developing effective resolutions.

Safety & Compliance

  • Communicate company policies and expectations to field personnel as required.
  • Coordinate with safety personnel to ensure compliance with all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and standards.

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide regular updates on project status, workforce needs, productivity, and field operations to Project Managers and Division Managers.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting project progress, performance metrics, and workforce utilization.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to field operations and manpower management.
