Job Description

This full-time Electrical Superintendent role based in Raleigh, NC focuses on overseeing field operations for commercial electrical construction projects. The position ensures that all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while upholding high standards of quality, code compliance, and crew performance. The role is ideal for an experienced commercial electrical professional seeking a senior-level leadership opportunity with a growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electrical crews on commercial job sites to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and established safety standards.
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment usage, and resource allocation to support continuous workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, communicate safety expectations, and enforce all safety protocols on the job site.
  • Monitor project schedules and adjust manpower, equipment, and materials as needed to meet project deadlines and milestones.
  • Review, interpret, and verify blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours, material usage, and project progress, providing timely updates and reports as required.
  • Train, mentor, and support field personnel to promote high performance, technical proficiency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, quality, and safety on commercial projects.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within electrical construction.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local building codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools and scheduling software used to plan and track project activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, crews, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Solid problem-solving skills to address field challenges and implement practical solutions.
  • Commercial electrical construction experience, including work on commercial buildings and facilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical training or certifications in electrical systems are preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus and demonstrates advanced safety knowledge.
  • Experience in construction supervision and construction management on commercial projects.
  • Background in coordinating electrical work within broader commercial construction activities.
  • Ability to use project documentation, including blueprints and schematics, to guide decision-making.
  • Interest in contributing senior-level leadership within a growing company.

Work Environment

This role is based on commercial construction job sites in and around Raleigh, NC, working full-time in a field-focused environment. The Electrical Superintendent spends most of the time on active construction sites, coordinating crews, inspecting work, and interacting with project stakeholders.
