Overview:
Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the plant power and control systems and providing technical support and direction to electrical personnel. Interface with production personnel to support production objectives in all plant areas.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure work group safety and a safe work environment for the entire department relating to operation and maintenance of electrical equipment and process controls.
- Lead all electrical maintenance and system improvement activities.
- Develop technicians troubleshooting skills and programming skills.
- Track and manage technician qualification and required training.
- Provide technical resources for electrical personnel.
- Report to the department manager on all aspects of electrical maintenance.
- Understand and maintain spare part, maintenance, safety, LOTO and quality system compliance.
- Plan and coordinate down day and outage electrical activities.
- Oversee day to day activities of the electrical shift and day-turn technicians.
- Assist troubleshooting, electrical and electronic repair and develop periodic maintenance on equipment.
- Plan and oversee optimization of drive control systems, PLC control systems and other closed loop industrial control systems.
- Identify, design and implement changes/upgrades which will increase the productivity or reliability of the process or coordinate such activities.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or extensive electrical maintenance experience.
- Ability to work with production, maintenance and contractor personnel to achieve objectives.
- Excellenct communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience directing contractors and technical personnel.
- Medium voltage and distribution experience.
- CAD familiarity.
