Job Description
The Electrical Supervisor oversees a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring safe,
efficient, and code-compliant electrical work across projects or facility operations. This role
combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and project coordination.
Responsibilities
- • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of electrical crews
- Review blueprints, schematics, and work orders to plan job execution
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes
- Conduct safety briefings and enforce PPE/lockout-tagout procedures
- Inspect completed work for quality and code compliance
- Troubleshoot complex electrical systems (power distribution, motor controls, PLCs, etc.)
- Train, mentor, and evaluate performance of electricians and apprentices
- Manage material and tool inventory, order supplies as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades
- Maintain accurate documentation (permits, inspection reports, timesheets)
- Respond to and troubleshoot emergency electrical issues
Skills/Qualifications
- • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (required)
- 5+ years of electrical experience, including 2+ years in a lead/supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
- Experience with industrial, commercial, or residential systems (specify based on role)
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency reading electrical drawings and schematics
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
