The role

As an Electrical Systems Engineer focused on generator enclosure integration, you will plan, design, and implement electrical systems to ensure dependable power generation. You’ll back your designs with rigorous standards compliance (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA) and provide field-ready documentation and guidance to operations teams.

What you will do

  • Specify and design electrical systems within generator enclosures.
  • Develop and review single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Execute protection coordination and grounding system design.
  • Verify adherence to IEC, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA standards.
  • Deliver technical support and installation instructions to enable smooth operations, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with additional assignments as directed by your manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s-level education required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks 3D; knowledge of SolidWorks Simulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Strong math skills and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Team-oriented, fast-paced mindset; able to work independently under pressure while maintaining professionalism and composure.
  • Clear, effective communicator who can share plans, goals, and technical details with the workforce.

Work setting & travel

  • Environment may include extreme weather and loud noise.
  • Potential exposure to vibration, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, and working on platforms or equipment more than 4 feet above ground.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
  • Travel typically ~10%.
