Electrical Systems QA & Commissioning Technician

Do you enjoy proving that complex electrical assemblies work exactly as designed? Can you read a schematic, build a test plan, and chase down root causes? Join Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Arden, NC as an Electrical Technician I and be the last word on quality before our power distribution solutions go out the door.

Why this role?

  • You’ll own functional testing for structures, units, panels, panelboards, component parts, controls, and full assemblies.
  • You’ll collaborate across Engineering, Quality, and operations to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • You’ll directly support customer inspectors during test and inspection activities.

What you’ll work on

  • Set up, inspect, and test equipment using verbal/written instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Run mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence tests; confirm quality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot failures, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Recommend improvements to assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing procedures; confirm repairs/changes are completed and documented.
  • Maintain test gear, calibration status, records, and reporting.
  • Follow all safety, PPE, hygiene, and housekeeping practices.

Shift and pay

  • 3:30pm – 2:00am
  • $26.50 per hour

Pay is provided as a general guideline; actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business needs.

Must-haves

  • High school diploma or GED (from an accredited institution).
  • 2+ years of experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting electrical schematics.

Location and eligibility

  • Based in Arden, NC within our Power Distribution and Control Assemblies operation.
  • No relocation assistance available; candidates must be within a 50-mile radius to be considered.
  • Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographic requirement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology/Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • 1 year of experience reading/interpreting schematics.
  • Experience testing open and energized electrical equipment.
