DESCRIPTION:
The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking an Electrical Teacher (0.5 FTE) with expertise in residential and commercial electrical trades to provide Career and Technical Education (CTE) instruction to high school students within a CTE setting. The successful candidate will deliver hands-on classroom instruction in areas including chime systems and lighting fixtures, conductors, cables and boxes, electric heat and wiring lighting outlets, receptables, switches, and appliances. The position requires teaching industry-relevant skills and practices to prepare students for a career in the electrical trades which includes installing light duty electrical services, conduits, wire, recessed and fluorescent lighting, large service panels as well as motor control circuits, motors, electrical controls, transformers, switches, and outlets.
