Job Overview
Successful candidate will perform a wide variety of electrical tasks including building control and motor control panels, mounting panels to skids, running conduit and wire to panels and instrumentation on skids, and termination testing. Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools and familiar with 480v, 120v, and 24v power and control systems. Typically 2 years and above documented field experience in electrical discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document plan and perform work activities independently. Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Accountabilities
• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that wiring is installed before completion of closed areas. • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, and assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules, and conduit benders. • Pulls wiring through conduit assisted by helper. • Splices wires following company and customer requirements. • Connects wiring to equipment using hand tools. • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools. • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads. • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery, and buzzer and oscilloscope. • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. • Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems. • Loads, transports, and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Maintains tools and equipment. • Can distinguish colors. • Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy. • Makes decisions based on measurable criteria. • Applies basic mathematics to solve problems. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

Basic Qualifications
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with 2 previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
2 or more years of experience as an industrial electrician. Familiar with NEC and NFPA 70 E Codes. Performs maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment. Respiratory protection is common and may be required. Required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards. Visualizes objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. Compares and sees differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Work Schedule
Shop works four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Overtime may be required.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $25- $28 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors, including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
