Job Summary:
PowerSecure is seeking qualified candidates for exciting new projects throughout the US. Core competencies for the Electrical Technician 3 include the ability to oversee complete Building Electrical installations including Lighting Replacements, Lighting Retrofits, Lighting Controls Systems Installations, Electrical Installations including: Raceway, Conductors, Medium Voltage Distribution Equipment and Devices. Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
High School, GED Equivalency, and/or Trade School required.
Minimum of 3-5 years in the electrical trade in the institutional, industrial or commercial sector.
Experience with various types of lighting systems, including exterior lighting fixtures, highbay fixtures, troffer fixtures, lamp and ballast retrofits and related controls systems.
Hands-on experience with demolition and installation of various types of medium voltage electrical distribution equipment.
Experience with installation of various types of raceways and conductors for a complete electrical installation.
Experience with electrical and controls installation (not required, but a plus).
Must be able to pass a government background check, drug test and other site pre-access requirements.
Apprenticeship program (not required, but a plus).
OSHA 10 or 30 training (not required, but a plus).
NFPA 70E training (not required, but a plus).
Position requires a willingness to travel to project locations when assigned to work on projects that require onsite presence for extended project durations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Foreperson and project management team to ensure material and equipment needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of actual work.
Operate independently in the installation of materials in a lighting project and has the capabilities to act as a Foreman or Material Manager when assigned to such tasks.
Read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and equipment submittals.
Utilize construction plans to layout and install a variety of Electrical & Lighting Systems in both new construction and retrofits.
Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, supports, distribution equipment, raceways and conductors and related to fully functional electrical systems. Systems will vary in complexity, size, and voltage.
Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, electrical controls systems including wired & wireless solutions.
Train Level 1 & 2 Technicians in work-related areas to enhance installation knowledge, productivity, and safety.
Must be able to work well with others and be able to take direction.
Strong organizational and planning skills; Able to effectively allocate and develop resources.
Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.
Maintain safe work environment by complying with safety policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be physically capable of walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, handling, reaching, depth perception, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and talking.
Workers can be subjected to possible bodily injury equipment, tools, materials, etc. Work environment may include exposure to weather, extreme heat (including humidity) or cold, noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working at heights, and working around explosives.
