What is the day to day like for Electrical Technician

Demonstrate exceptional customer service with patience

Conduct yourself in a conscious safe manner while respecting safety rules

Participate in assembly work associated with control cabinets, pendant controls, electrical boxes, and special attachments

Take ownership of industrial wiring projects for precise equipment

Install automation and prototype equipment with advanced opportunities for troubleshooting all components

Establish and maintain good communication with the team

Measure, examine, and test AC/DC circuits with a multi-meter to diagnose and troubleshoot problems

Three-phase wiring of miscellaneous motors for spindles, conveyors, pumps, and VFDs

Support and opportunities from the engineering team with motion control systems, PLCs, and robotics

Ensure conformance to specifications and assist in development with the team through training and shared knowledge

Identify equipment and process concerns and provide improvement suggestions


What you need for this job

Motivation to learn something new daily

Electrical knowledge or experience associated with building industrial manufacturing equipment

Ability to read and utilize electrical schematics

Ability to build and wire industrial control cabinets

Qualified candidates will possess an associate degree in industrial electricity from a two-year or technical school

Two years of practical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with industrial electrical control and automation systems.


Work Schedule

We generally work first shift Monday through Friday and travel periodically as needed, maybe up to 30% of the time


Hydromat's workplace is climate controlled through all weather seasons.
