Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Technician / Technologist for a Contract with a client in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, configuring, and supporting complex electromechanical test setups for traction inverter validation, ensuring accurate testing, reliability, and safe laboratory operations.

Rate Range: $32/hour to $35/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Electrical Technician / Technologist Job Responsibilities include:

• Build, assemble, and maintain complex electromechanical test setups, prototype fixtures, and custom test stands for traction inverter validation and development activities.

• Fabricate, inspect, and troubleshoot low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) wiring harnesses, inverter components, and electrical assemblies using engineering drawings and schematics.

• Configure, operate, and support laboratory equipment including high-voltage test systems, thermal chambers, power cyclers, and diagnostic instrumentation.

• Perform testing, diagnostics, root cause analysis, and systematic teardown activities to evaluate inverter performance, reliability, and functionality.

• Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration support, and equipment readiness activities to ensure safe and efficient laboratory operations.

• Maintain a safe, organized test environment through inventory management, documentation, shipping/receiving support, and adherence to high-voltage safety and LOTO procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree, Technical Diploma, or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field.

• 3+ years of experience in an R&D, validation, power electronics, automotive testing, or laboratory test environment supporting electromechanical systems.

• Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting electromechanical test setups, low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) wiring harnesses, inverter testing, prototype fabrication, and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment operation, diagnostics, high-voltage safety practices (LOTO/Energy Control), test fixture fabrication, and supporting validation activities for power electronics, automotive, or electrified vehicle systems.

Pay Details: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour
