Evaluate products for compliance with applicable NEC, UL, and CSA standards.
Review order documentation, operate system components, verify product quality, and ensure units meet agency approval requirements.
Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of power conversion equipment prior to shipment.
Conduct testing according to established procedures using measuring instruments and computerized test programs.
Accurately document test results and maintain complete testing records.
Operate measuring instruments, related tools, and computer-based test equipment safely and effectively.
Collaborate with Test and Manufacturing Engineers on the development and improvement of test equipment.
Assist in the creation, revision, and maintenance of test work instructions.
Read and interpret test procedures to properly execute tests and document results.
Perform tests to evaluate product strength, durability, reliability, and maintainability as required.
Collect test data and prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and results.
Install, configure, diagnose, service, and repair electrical equipment prior to shipment.
Configure and connect system equipment, including switchgear, SCCT cabinets, and power tie systems.
Conduct preliminary inspections and operational testing of finished products.
Utilize hand tools and test equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to verify proper operation according to engineering specifications.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits and perform repairs as necessary.
Inspect equipment during operation to identify issues such as excessive vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, loose components, unusual noise, or malfunctioning parts.
Repair and correct non-conforming conditions to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
Replace defective components and perform additional corrective actions as needed.
Ensure all units are fully operational and ready for shipment.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
Ability to read and understand technical instructions, write basic correspondence, and communicate effectively in English.
Working knowledge of electrical test equipment, including:
Hi-Pot (Hypot) Testers
Digital Multimeters
Power Analyzers
Waveform Analyzers
Oscilloscopes
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
One of the following qualifications is required:
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; OR
Completion of a two-year technical program with an emphasis in electrical applications; OR
A combination of education, training, and relevant work experience equivalent to two years in a related field.
