Summary:
Fabricates, assembles, modifies, repairs, and tests development, production, and prototype wire harnesses and electrical assemblies.
Constructs wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, routing, and inspecting various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials.
Operates tools and equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, solder iron, wire identification and cutting machines, heat guns, and associated tools.
Ensures all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues.
Interprets blueprints, sketches, specifications, and written or verbal instructions for fabrication tasks.
Applies knowledge of electrical wire harness materials, fabrication and assembly methods, and common shop practices.
Applies basic mathematics for measurement and fabrication tasks.
Trains new employees to complete work packages in electrical harness fabrication.
Reports on job status and constraints to coworkers and supervision.
Navigates computer systems for office and shop applications to record and retrieve information.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience using a computer to look up and record information.
Experience using math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions.
Ability to work any shift based on operational needs.
Preferred: Experience constructing wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing wire and related materials.
Preferred: Experience using written instructions and drawings to complete fabrication tasks.
Preferred: Experience using hand tools and hand-held power tools for wire harness assembly.
Preferred: Experience determining gauge size of wire.
Ability to complete and maintain required training and certifications for the role.
