What We Have to Offer:

  • Stable work schedule - Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 5pm - You'll have every Friday off!

  • Health Coverage for you and your eligible dependents - City contributes up to $3,039.04 per month to your health plan. You may have zero out of pocket premiums depending on the selected health plan.

  • City paid dental and vision insurance

  • 12 paid holidays per year, plus 2 floating holidays (after 1 year of service)

  • 80 hours of paid time off accrual rate per year and will grow with years of service - up to 22 days per year

  • 8 hours of sick leave per month of service

  • 457 Deferred Compensation Plan (for Retirement) - City contributes 1.3% of base salary plus $150/month (up to $275 per month in 2026)

  • CalPERS Pension when you retire

  • The work is stationed in Belmont - you don't need to travel far!

  • Class B License training and pay ($300 per year)

  • CWEA and PM Electrical/Technologist training and certificate pay (up to $275 per month)

  • Bilingual Pay (after certification): $100 per month

What You''ll Do

This is a journey-level electrician classification that works independently with minimal supervision completing a variety of skilled electrician tasks. This position performs a variety of complex and skilled work in electrical operations, maintenance, alteration and repair of electrical systems and equipment; installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs street lighting, traffic control devices and pump station electrical components; locates, tests and repairs malfunctions of sanitary and storm pumping stations, underground cables and other electrical systems and equipment. This position also performs skilled electrical work on municipal buildings and facilities and other general maintenance duties as required.
