Electrician
AFull-time, 40 hours 2nd shift Akron City Campus Summa Health System

Summary:
Operates the fire alarm system and the electrical distribution system. Operates portable test equipment; operation of the emergency power system including generator operation, transfer switch functions, and the nurse call system. Performs electrical installation and repairs in compliance with requirements identified in the National Electric Code. Operates the overhead paging system and pneumatic tube system. Provides support and assistance as appropriate and trains other skilled trade personnel engaged in maintenance activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required: a. Two (2) years electrician trade school b. High school level course in grammar, composition, and mathematics
Experience & Training Required: a. Two (2) years electrician experience in a large institution, commercial facility, or service company
Other Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications: a. Ability to plan, prioritize workload, and effectively resolve problems b. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, engineers, contractors, and staff c. Ability to analyze data, diagnose, and troubleshoot complex systems and equipment d. Ability to work from blueprints and drawings e. Ability to demonstrate behaviors consistent with the customer service policy f. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
Level of Physical Demands: a. Sedentary. Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
