The Electrician performs scheduled electrical preventive maintenance, repairs to all types of electrical equipment. Performs electrical installation on projects.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs outlined preventive maintenance on electrical equipment as scheduled in accordance with hospital standards, performing these duties within the established time frames.
  • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Performs all electrical work in the hospital including installation of new project work.
  • Records and maintains daily records of work performed, in a legible fashion to insure proper procedures are fulfilled and properly recorded.
  • "On Call" rotation may be required

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Requires standing for up to eight (8) hours per day and walking for up to four (4) hours per day, moderate physical effort lifting loads up to 60 lbs., and pushing/pulling up to 300 lbs. Must possess the ability to climb up to 30 feet, bend, kneel for extended periods of time, crouch, twist, sit, reach, and walk several flights of stairs. Hearing as it pertains to normal hearing and seeing as it relates to normal vision. Sense of smell as it relates to distinguishing burning or other odors when working on equipment. Standing for up to eight (8) hours per day or walking for up to four (4) hours per day. Manual dexterity to handle tools, supplies, equipment etc.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of trade school or minimum of three (3) years electrical and mechanical experience.

NJ Candidates: NJ Electrical License preferred
