Overview:

 

Quarterhill is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Electrician holding a valid California C‑10 license to support installation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical infrastructure across our transportation technology and intelligent systems environments. This role is critical to ensuring system reliability, code compliance, and operational excellence across field deployments.

 

The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in commercial and industrial electrical systems, with the ability to execute work independently while adhering to rigorous safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components in accordance with California Electrical Code (CEC) and project specifications
  • Execute conduit installation, wiring, panel work, and system integration for traffic systems, ITS infrastructure, and related technologies

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system implementation

  • Perform diagnostics, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and uptime

  • Ensure compliance with all state, local, and OSHA safety regulations

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to meet project timelines and deliverables

  • Maintain detailed records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities

  • Support commissioning and system validation efforts across deployed infrastructure

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Valid California C‑10 Electrical Contractor License (required)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work
  • Strong knowledge of California Electrical Code (CEC), NEC, and safety standards
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with low-voltage systems, controls, or transportation-related infrastructure is preferred
  • Proficiency with electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites within California

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signals, or roadside electrical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with networked electrical systems or communications equipment
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification

Work Environment

  • Field-based role with exposure to outdoor conditions and active construction environments
  • May require travel to multiple job sites and occasional extended work hours depending on project needs
  • Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, and working at heights or in confined spaces

Salary Range:  $95,000 - $125,000, with flexibility based on demonstrated field expertise, infrastructure experience, and ability to operate independently in complex environments.
