Job Summary/Overall Objectives
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Utilizes blueprints, manuals, schematic diagrams, national and local codes and specifications in performance of daily work.
Essential Job Functions
Connects and disconnects power for equipment.
Installs electrical circuits for equipment per manufacturer specifications.
Tests circuits for proper operation.
Identifies electrical malfunctions.
Uses test equipment to check for proper voltage and continuity.
Replaces or repairs damaged components.
Insures proper operation and safety of equipment.
Assembles circuit breaker panels and power distribution systems.
Installs interconnecting conduit and wiring for proper circuit operations.
Follows national electrical code standards.
Tests circuits and distribution equipment systems to meet specifications.
Identifies malfunctioning equipment.
Repairs or replaces defective components.
Works with schematic diagrams to solve complex problems.
Installs and maintains building and patient alarm systems.
Works with manufacturer representatives regarding programming changes, repairs, parts and service
Installs new components to expand systems.
Maintains and repairs electro-mechanical equipment.
Diagnoses non-electrical malfunctions in equipment.
Performs minor mechanical repairs to machinery and equipment
Assists tradesmen and performs other maintenance duties as assigned. Mentors and educates other personnel in construction and maintenance procedures and techniques.
