**Kind of Work** This is skilled electrical work performing a wide variety of tasks at or above the journeyman level. **Examples of Work** # (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions of this class.) Installs, maintains, alters or repairs fire alarm systems, traffic signals, traffic controls, street-lighting circuits and/or lift stations, and flow monitoring systems. Builds and maintains school zone traffic signals. Installs and maintains solar lights and panels. Operates lift truck, boom truck, trencher, and other job related equipment. Performs regular inspection of traffic intersections. Performs load calculations and circuitry sizing for electrical systems. Installs and maintains building electrical systems and outside overhead lighting in recreation areas including working on poles or towers exceeding 100 feet. Upgrades building electrical systems in response to user needs by installing electrical conduits, wires, breakers, lights, and receptacles. Inspects and troubleshoots electrical outages. Keeps electrical motors and appliances in working order. Maintains and repairs switchboards. Runs overhead and underground electrical wiring. Cuts trees. Sets poles. Supervises and trains Electrician Trainees. Maintains effective communications with department heads and suppliers. Maintains inventories and orders parts and supplies. Installs temporary electrical services for special events. Installs and maintains safe work zones and traffic control devices in streets and roadways. Responds to after-hours emergencie
