As an Electrician II, you'll install, maintain, and lead work on critical electrical infrastructure across the community.
Who we are looking for:
- Someone with a High school diploma or GED, along with three (3) years of electrical experience in installation, maintenance, and repairor completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
- Possession of a Journeyman Electrician's license with working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) standards.
- A valid driver's license with the ability to be insured on the city's insurance plan.
- Must successfully pass the written portion of theCDL written examwithin six (6) months of hire date and obtain the required CDL license within 12months of hire date.
- Ability to obtain Work Zone Safety certification within 6 (six) months of employment.
- Willingness to respond to emergency call-outs and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays
- Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug and alcohol screening, and physical agility assessment.
Looking to stand out?While not required, the following skills, experience, and training can help set you apart from other applicants:
- Possession of International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Technician 1.
- Experience with repair work of street lighting.
What You'll Do:
- Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of electrical systems, including street lighting, traffic signals, high-voltage equipment, and facility systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues to keep critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.
- Operate tools and equipmentincluding bucket trucksto complete electrical work in the field.
- Read and interpret plans and schematics, prepare basic reports, and manage materials and supplies for projects.
- Lead and support crew members by assigning tasks, training, and ensuring work is completed safely and in compliance with codes and standards.

The starting hourly wage is $28.04 per hour andwill increase to $29.16 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.
