About the Role

DaneCo Electric is seeking an experienced Electrician II (journey-level) for residential and commercial projects in the Monterey County area. This role requires the ability to work independently, interpret complex blueprints, troubleshoot advanced electrical issues, and lead small crews. You'll serve as a technical resource for the team, mentor less experienced staff, and play a key role in delivering quality work safely and on schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Independently install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems (wiring, panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, low-voltage).
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, single-line diagrams, and specifications.
  • Perform advanced conduit bending, load calculations, wire sizing, and conduit fill calculations.
  • Lead small crews on project segments - assign tasks, monitor quality, and maintain productivity.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical problems using advanced testing equipment.
  • Mentor Helpers and Electrician I staff on techniques, code, and safety.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, California Electrical Code, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with Foremen, other trades, GCs, and inspectors.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on electrical experience (residential and/or commercial).
  • Advanced knowledge of the NEC and California Electrical Code.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints, single-line diagrams, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with advanced electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • California General Electrician Certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This role requires regular lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and working in various weather conditions and environments including confined spaces, attics, and rooftops.
