Position Information

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and five years experience.

Position Summary

Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots a variety of electrical equipment and systems. Also conducts preventive and general maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Electrical and high voltage experience and ability to provide general maintenance, construction, and HVAC support to Savannah River Ecology Lab maintenance crew.
  • Ability to work with electricity including voltages up to 480 volts.
  • Ability to assist with general facility renovation and construction.
  • Communication-Clear speaking, writing, active listening, conveying information effectively.

Physical Demands

Lift 50 lbs and work outside in various climate conditions.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Serve as primary electrician for Savannah River Ecology Lab maintenance department.

Percentage of time 35 Duties/Responsibilities

Work with general maintenance mechanics completing preventive maintenance requirements as needed.

Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities

Work with contractors (HVAC, electrical, construction) to help facilitate their work for our facility and Interface with Savannah River Site contractors as needed on behalf of our facility.

Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities

Ensure all work adheres to Savannah River Site DOE/NNSA standards. Make urgent or unplanned supplies purchases for repairs.
