Journeyman Electrician

FMJ Electric LLC is looking for a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is experienced in electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, and takes pride in performing safe, quality work.

Our projects are primarily commercial and industrial electrical work, and we are looking for someone who can work independently while also working effectively with our team.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, and schematics.
• Install and terminate electrical wiring, conduit, raceways, panels, disconnects, breakers, receptacles, lighting, and other electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify problems efficiently.
• Perform work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Properly use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and electrical equipment.
• Work safely around energized and de-energized electrical systems.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Properly handle company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
• Complete required job documentation, timecards, material requests, and other paperwork accurately.
• Assist apprentices and less-experienced electricians with training and development when needed.
• Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining FMJ Electric's standards for professionalism, quality, and work above expectations.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician license or recognized journeyman-level experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and NEC requirements.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and plans.
• Experience with commercial electrical work preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues independently.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, climb ladders, work from lifts, and perform physical job duties as required.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
