Amentum is seeking an Electrician-Journeyman to join our team in Springfield, VA, and support our government customer.
As an Electrician-Journeyman, you will inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all electrical systems and equipment 600v or less throughout the facilities. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities include the following:
• Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs as well as demolition, installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems. • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment on AC and/or DC systems. • Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair electrical equipment and circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments. • Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain, and lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switchgear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus.
Utilize a thorough working knowledge of national and local electrical codes. Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems, equipment, as required for maintenance programs on the basis of all information obtained through tests.
Install conduit, wiring, and electrical apparatus. Read blueprints and generate bill of materials. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Maintain part and tool inventories.
Minimum requirements:
• Four years of maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade required. • A willingness to work rotational shift, if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required. • High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate, or equivalent required. • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
