Title-Electrician (Contract Position)

Location-Candidate must be local to Kauai Island

Duration- 12 months contract

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Position Summary

• Seeking a skilled Electrician to support facility, infrastructure, and research operations at locations on Kauai. This position is ideal for an experienced electrician who enjoys a stable work schedule, meaningful work, and the opportunity to contribute to an industry-leading agricultural research organization.
• The Electrician will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in industrial, commercial, laboratory, and agricultural environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
• Diagnose electrical issues and perform corrective maintenance on facilities and operational equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Install and maintain lighting, motors, panels, breakers, transformers, and control systems.
• Support preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to complete work safely and efficiently.
• Respond to maintenance and operational needs as required.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical experience in industrial, commercial, facilities, or related environments.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• State Electrician License or Electrical Certification preferred.
• Journeyman Electrician certification preferred.
• Experience with industrial controls, motor controls, VFDs, generators, and facility electrical systems.
• Experience working in agricultural, manufacturing, or research environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical maintenance activities.
