    Electrician Master Trainer

    Job Description:

    Job Purpose

    To ensure that all electrical / electronic components, equipment and systems are in optimum working order while supporting, encouraging and leading members of the Electrical Team towards their State of Michigan Journeyman License.

    In this position you will have the opportunity to:

    • Comply with all safety requirements of the mill with an elevated awareness
    • Know and follow corporate and site policies
    • Perform advance navigation of programs as they pertain to daily work
    • Utilize skilled knowledge of drive systems
    • Lead training and development of Electrical team. Maintain the site electrical apprenticeship program that is in compliance with the State of Michigan requirements.
    • Provide that all State of Michigan permitting and licensing requirements are in order.
    • Diagnose and correct malfunctions of electrical / electronic components of Siding production machines using PLC/ HMI
    • Cover vacations for other leads.
    • Skillfully manage projects as assigned
    • Install, sets up, calibrates instrumentation controls
    • Partner with Electrical Supervisor to plan projects utilizing knowledge of technical requirements, analysis of blueprints and electrical schematics

    What do I need to be successful?

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge and ability to train / lead others about LP and State of Michigan electrical standards.
    • Excellent diagnostic and mechanical skills
    • Excellent knowledge of plant / product / production process
    • Good safety record and thorough knowledge of current safety rules and regulation
    • Excellent knowledge of computers and computerized controls
    • Ability to understand and apply information gained from technical manuals, blueprints and electrical schematics
    • Knowledge of operations of tools such as torches, welders, grinders, and hand tools
    • Able to lead groups.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent desired.
    • Michigan Masters License and any other certifications necessary to be designated as the site Master Electrician under the State of Michigan regulations.
    • Must be able to secure a Facility Electrical Contractors License.

    Work Environment

    • Dusty plant environment with moving machinery.
    • Requires working at heights and in confined spaces.
    • May suffer eye strain from computer screens, blueprint reading, working with small wires and components
    • May be subject to stress due to time pressures associated with performing tasks while production is interrupted
