Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team! You will be responsible for installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment, as well as training apprentices on the job. If you are a Electrician with a can-do attitude who takes pride in his work, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Follow all safety rules and regulations
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Use blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine electrical requirements and materials needed
Install new electrical systems and repair existing systems
The Electrician, Licensed performs building maintenance and repair work, and responds to the corrective needs of electrical equipment, and system components
Tests emergency generators, and conditioning and heating systems
Maintains and repairs circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration units, fans, and other electrical equipment
Evaluates equipment performance using instruments, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges
Works from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment
Responsible for inspection, testing and maintenance of electrical, electronic and HVAC systems on rolling stock equipment and components in accordance with FRA and Amtrak standards and guidelines
Performs inspection, testing and maintenance in accordance with 49CFR regulations and Amtrak standards and guidelines
Utilizes a variety of test equipment, PC, and graphic information to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot and qualify components and circuits to determine corrective actions and causes of equipment failures
Installs components such as motors, generators, switches, relays, batteries, and transformers
Performs approved electrical modifications and repairs or replaces components, as necessary
Works on electrical systems and components with AC and DC voltage
Skills:
Reading Prints & Preform Layouts
Proficient with wiring devices & terminating
Able to run & bend conduit
Preform underground to trim out
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Electrician is preferred
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and measurements
