Electrician
Location: Montgomery, AL / Tuskegee, AL
Pay Rate: $24.20/hour
We are hiring skilled Electricians for a full-time assignment supporting hospital and campus maintenance operations. This position requires work across the Central Alabama VA campuses as needed and includes routine and emergency electrical support.
Responsibilities:
· Install new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.
· Maintain secondary power distribution lines and circuits across a range of voltages.
· Provide maintenance for industrial multiphase systems, fire alarm systems, intrusion alarms, thermocouple sensors, and related infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot hard-to-locate electrical defects tied to repairs and installations.
· Use testing and measuring equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, meggers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years of documented electrician experience required.
· Strong knowledge of trade formulas, circuits, power calculations, voltage drop, and current capability.
· Must be able to work safely in heat, noise, confined spaces, and elevated environments.
· OSHA 30-hour construction training and required PPE compliance are mandatory.
