Job Title: Electrician

Job Summary:

Perform skilled electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services across the FLETC Charleston and NWS campus. As LAUKOA's Electrician, you will ensure the safe operation of electrical systems in accordance with National Electrical Code standards, supporting mission-critical infrastructure and facility reliability.

Location: Charleston, SC

Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, receptacles, panels, and distribution equipment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using test instruments and blueprints.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components as outlined in PWS Section C-5.B

  • Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and FLETC safety requirements.

  • Replace or repair electrical fixtures, switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and conduit.

  • Assist with new construction or renovation work involving electrical wiring.

  • Complete work orders, logs, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Respond to electrical service requests and emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical safety standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, as-built drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Proficiency using electrical tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.

  • Ability to work independently, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (state/local) strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a favorable adjudication via a DHS background investigation and maintain suitability clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization.

  • This position may require the operation of Company-provided vehicles.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing is a condition of employment.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, employee must comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies, as well as all applicable traffic laws.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, the Company may review your motor vehicle record (MVR), as permitted by law, to verify eligibility to operate Company vehicles.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, you must immediately notify the Company if your driver’s license is suspended, revoked, restricted, expires, or if your driving privileges otherwise change.

Work hours are 0700-1600 with availability to be on call outside of work hours.

Salary: $27.51 per hour + $5.09 Per Hour = $32.60 per hour.
