Description
SUMMARY: With supervision, is responsible for building and equipment maintenance and repairs, preventative maintenance and snow removal. Primarily maintains, renovates, and performs new installation of all commercial and residential electrical systems and related equipment throughout the school.

Equipment Used: A variety of hand, garden, snow removal and power tools, heavy equipment, AC and DC electronic test equipment, and twenty-foot ladder.
Performance Standard: Must perform electrical maintenance and repair duties according to local and national safety practices and codes 100% of the time.
Work Environment: Works in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments with a variety of sound, lighting, and temperature conditions. Works with electrical service beyond main power transformer; from 480 volts down to low voltage equipment. May be necessary to work in confined spaces on an infrequent basis.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. This position follows the standard twelve-month work schedule. Additional hours or flextime may be required on an infrequent basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills and general abilities:
Maintenance Electricians license, certification or electrical apprenticeship.
Knowledge of electrical theory, wiring and installation practices, and NFPA electrical code.
Minimum of 5 years related experience.
General knowledge of related tools and materials and their uses.
Must have class C driver's license with acceptable driving record.
HS diploma or GED equivalency required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
After six months in this position, the employee is required to have:
Basic knowledge of the School's HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES & EMPLOYEE SAFETY PROGRAMS.
Basic knowledge of the School's WRITTEN HAZARD COMMUNICATION PROGRAM.
